Q1Why only three formats?
Because the browser can only encode these three. BMP, TIFF, ICO and AVIF encoding is not part of the Canvas API — tools that claim otherwise are usually uploading your file to a server.
Q2Why did the file get bigger when I chose PNG?
Your source was probably a compressed JPEG. Converting to a lossless format preserves all that data, so the file grows. To shrink, convert to WebP instead.
